From 1 August 2024, the drivers will be able to purchase a 1-day vignette when using the specified sections of motorways and expressways in Slovakia. The vignette will be valid until midnight of the day specified by the customer. As in other countries such as Austria, Hungary and the Czech Republic, the vignette will not be valid for 24 hours after purchase.
The price of the 1-day vignette is EUR 5.40. The price has been set in accordance with the directive of the European Parliament and the Council of the EU specifying that the price of the 1-day vignette should be 9 % of the price of the 1-year vignette.
The 1-day vignette at a price without any commission fee will be available at official NDS points of sale, as well as through the official portal of vignette payment collection www.Eznamka.sk, the official mobile app, or at 380 points of sale across Slovakia. NDS expects that the 1-day vignette will mainly attract the attention of foreign drivers who are only passing through Slovakia.
The second major change is stopping the sale of the 1-year vignette, which will be fully replaced by the 365-day vignette. However, stopping the sale will not affect 1-year vignettes already purchased, which will remain valid until 31 January 2025 as usual.
