In the first six months of this year, Slovak and foreign drivers purchased more than 2.9 million motorway vignettes. The 10-day vignette remains the most popular option for Slovak drivers. In the first half of 2026, drivers purchased more than 1.2 million of these vignettes. The 365-day and 1-day vignettes competed for second place in popularity. In both cases, around 740 thousand vignettes were purchased.

“The demand for the 365-day vignette remains stable. There has been a slight increase of around half a percent in the number of vignettes purchased in the first half of 2025 and 2026. However, the increase in the number of purchased 1-day vignettes is more than 15 %,” said Peter Braška, Member of the Board of Directors and Charging and IT Section Director at Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, a.s. (National Motorway Company, hereafter referred to as “NDS”).

A defining moment in the first half of 2026 was the increased demand for the 30-day motorway vignette. In total, just under 290-thousand were sold, representing year-on-year sales growth of almost 30 %.

“This suggests that drivers are putting more effort into planning their journeys when purchasing the vignette. The 30-day motorway vignette is not a standard choice for holidaymakers, nor does it compete with the 365-day vignette. The overall increase shows that drivers are forward-thinking; instead of buying two 10-day vignettes, they buy one 30-day vignette,” added Peter Braška.

The increase may also be caused by greater convenience of the vignette purchase process. In 2024, NDS took over the sale of e-vignettes and redesigned the website. In November 2025, the Apple Pay and Google Pay options when purchasing vignettes online were introduced.

This increased comfort when purchasing motorway vignettes via the website was reflected in the sales figures for the first half of 2026. The volume of online transactions via the website grew by almost 8 %, while the increase via the mobile app was more than 20 %,” concluded Peter Braška.

Nevertheless, NDS continues to support traditional points of sale. For example, in March 2026, dozens of Slovak Post branches started selling electronic motorway vignettes.

The National Motorway Company would like to remind the public once again that www.eznamka.sk is the only official website for purchasing motorway vignettes. NDS does not cooperate with any other online sales channels. Prices on various third-party reselling websites differ from the official prices, and motorists are often charged additional fees. Furthermore, purchasing vignettes via these unauthorized resellers complicates the complaints process.
