The most frequently purchased motorway vignette by foreign drivers was the 10-day and 1-day vignette, whereas Slovak drivers most frequently purchased the 365-day vignette and 10-day vignettes, followed by Czech, Polish, Hungarian and German drivers. The most visited vignette sales point was the Information and Sales Point located at the Jarovce motorway border crossing, with almost 30 thousand motorway vignettes sold. “Up to 80 % motorway vignettes were sold via the website www.eznamka.sk or via the eZnamka mobile app,” informed Peter Braska, Charging and IT Section Director at Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, a.s. (National Motorway Company, hereafter referred to as “NDS”).
Since taking over the management of the motorway vignette sales system in January 2024, NDS has introduced several innovations. The portfolio of Slovak motorway vignettes has been extended to include a 1-day vignette, the eZnamka website has been redesigned, and payment methods have been expanded to include Apple Pay and Google Pay. The latest update is the possibility to purchase motorway vignettes at main post office branches located in regional capitals.
At the same time, NDS is reminding customers that the only official website for purchasing Slovak motorway vignettes is www.eznamka.sk. Other websites often resell vignettes at a higher price, and their fee can make the purchase several dozen euros more expensive. Customers also provide their personal data to an unknown recipient. Purchasing vignettes via reselling websites can also complicate the process of filing a complaint.
