Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, a.s. (the National Motorway Company, hereafter referred to as “NDS”) is continuously improving its motorway vignette sales system to better serve the drivers. “In cooperation with the Slovak Post, the network of motorway vignette sales points has been expanded to include all Slovak Post branches in regional capitals. This step was done to benefit those who prefer purchasing the vignette in person rather than online”, said Peter Braška, Charging and IT Section Director at NDS. There are no extra fees when buying the motorway vignette at a post office.

Severely disabled people holding a parking pass will also be able to apply for exemption from vignette payment at the post office. “Of course, applicants will be able to submit the request for exemption online by filling in the form on our website www.eznamka.sk or send it by post with all the required attachments. However, there are many applicants, especially among the older generation, who prefer submitting the request in person. From now on, they will be able to submit the request at the Slovak Post office 1, the so-called main post office, in every regional capital, added Mr. Braška. In this case, a handling fee according to the Slovak Post rates will be charged.

“Slovak Post is more than just a traditional provider of postal services. We continuously expand our service portfolio to become an accessible and reliable partner for clients at various stages of life. Our cooperation with NDS demonstrates that our unique network of post offices enables us to bring the public services closer to Slovak citizens who prefer personal contact rather than online communication”, said Vladislav Kupka, Director General of Slovak Post.

NDS would like to remind drivers who prefer to purchase the motorway vignette online that the website www.eznamka.sk is the only official sales channel for Slovak motorway vignettes. NDS does not cooperate with any other online sales channels. Prices on various reselling websites differ from the official prices, and drivers are often charged various extra fees. A purchase through such distributors also complicates the complaints process.

Over the past two years, since NDS took over the system of motorway vignette sales under its management, several innovations have been introduced. The portfolio of Slovak motorway vignettes has been extended to include a 1-day vignette, the eZnamka website has been redesigned, and payment methods have been expanded to include Apple Pay and Google Pay, thus significantly increasing customer comfort.
