As of today, motorists can purchase the new edition of the electronic motorway vignette 2025. Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, a.s. (the National Motorway Company, hereinafter referred to as “NDS”), has launched the sale of electronic motorway vignettes with updated prices and also introduced several changes concerning the offer of the e-vignettes.
For example, starting with the new year, the postponement of the start of the e-vignette validity will be extended from 13 to 60 days. NDS also warns motorists against purchasing the e-vignette via unofficial reseller's websites, as these portals may not have the updated prices and conditions reflected in their systems. The motorists risk that they may not have a valid e-vignette even though they pay for it.
The National Motorway Company has officially launched the presale of e-vignettes for 2025 and also introduced several changes in the rules of vignette sale. As of 2 December 2024, duplicate purchases concerning e.g. the 365-day e-vignette will be prevented. In 2024 alone, the number of complaints concerning the duplicate purchase of any type of e-vignette accounted for almost 15 % of all the sales.
If the system of vignette payment collection detects that the vehicle still has a valid 365-day e-vignette or an annual vignette before the expiration date, the purchase of a new 365-day e-vignette for the same or overlapping period will not be possible. In other words, the payment will not go through. Duplicate purchases occurred when two people shared the same vehicle and both of them purchased the motorway vignette independently. When doing so, they overlooked the warning message informing them that a motorway vignette had already been purchased for the given vehicle.
As of January 2025, the rules for the purchase of all types of electronic vignettes will also be aligned. Until now, it was possible to postpone the start of validity of the vignette by 13 days from the date of purchase, however, for the new 2025 edition of vignettes it will be possible to postpone the date by up to 60 days.
At the same time, the National Motorway Company advises motorists to only purchase the electronic motorway vignette through the official channels such as the website www.eznamka.sk, the mobile app eZnamka, the Information and Sales Points located at the motorway border crossings (Brodské, Čunovo, Jarovce, Skalité, Milhosť) or other 400 official Points of Sale.
NDS points out that foreign unofficial resellers may not take account of current changes in the General Terms and Conditions of Electronic Vignette Payment in due time. This may lead to situations when motorists purchase the vignette for a higher price than through the official sales channels, yet they still do not have a valid vignette. This situation can occur particularly in the case of changed prices of vignettes.
The prices of electronic motorway vignettes in 2025 are as follows:
• 365-day vignette 90 €
• 30-day vignette 17,10 €
• 10-day vignette 10,80 €
• 1-day vignette 8,10 €
WARNING
The system of electronic vignette purchase does not allow the payment of a duplicate motorway vignette if the motor vehicle has a valid motorway vignette. The system will inform you with this error message:
One or more of the entered data does not meet the validation criteria, please check and correct the data.
You need to change the start of the electronic vignette validity to the day after the expiry of the currently valid motorway vignette.
