Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, a.s. (National Motorway Company, hereafter referred to as “NDS”) reminds drivers to always check the start date of validity when purchasing a motorway vignette. Drivers who drive beyond the vignette validity period risk being fined.
Recently, NDS has recorded several cases of drivers purchasing a vignette with a postponed start date, but then using the charged motorway sections immediately after vignette purchase. Therefore, NDS warns drivers that entering a charged road section is only permitted with a valid vignette; otherwise, they risk receiving a fine.
If purchasing the motorway vignette via unofficial resellers, drivers need to be extra cautious, as the validity period of the vignette might differ from what the customer requested at purchase. Therefore, NDS highly recommends that drivers only use official vignette sales channels, such as the www.eznamka.sk website, the eZnamka mobile app, or official points of sale.
NDS provides a service that notifies customers when their motorway vignette is about to expire. Customers interested in using this service need to enter at least one contact detail (e-mail address or phone number in the correct format) at purchase. The notification message is usually sent out 3 days before the vignette expiration date.
