Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, a.s. (the National Motorway Company, hereafter referred to as “NDS”) reminds the drivers not to forget to purchase the motorway vignette when planning their vacation or trip to avoid being fined. Drivers are also advised to purchase motorway vignettes at www.eznamka.sk, the only official website selling Slovak motorway vignettes for guaranteed prices defined by law.

The 10-day vignette was the most frequently purchased motorway vignette so far in 2026, with 506 thousand units sold. This represented one third of total sales for the given period. The second most popular was the 365-day vignette with 455,000 units sold; followed by the 1-day vignette with 324,000 units sold; and the 30-day vignette with 113,000 units sold. Overall, 1.4 million vignettes have been sold so far in 2026.

Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, a.s. (the National Motorway Company, hereafter referred to as „NDS“) regularly warns drivers about various resellers offering motorway vignettes for a significantly higher price, charging various handling fees. Although such reselling is legal and common across Europe, drivers pay a higher price without receiving any additional service. Moreover, they hand over personal data to an anonymous operator, and the complaints process may become more complicated, too.

The electronic motorway vignettes are now available for purchase at selected Slovak Post branches. Furthermore, as of March 1, 2026, it is possible to apply for exemption from vignette payment at eight main regional post offices.

In 2025, Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, a.s. (the National Motorway Company, hereafter referred to as “NDS”) sold almost six million motorway vignettes, representing an annual increase of 8.6 %. As usual, the most popular type was the 10-day vignette with 2.5 million vignettes sold last year, representing almost half of all vignettes sold.

National Motorway Company warns drivers against fake websites selling electronic motorway vignettes. The customer pays, but receives no motorway vignette, while handing over his personal data to unknown fraudsters. NDS reminds the drivers that the only official website selling Slovak motorway vignettes is www.eznamka.sk.

Due to the emergency situation in the vicinity of Sliač, the R1 motorway section between Zvolen and Banská Bystrica was temporarily exempted from tolls on Wednesday, November 26. From the first minutes of today, the R1 section is again subject to tolls.
