As of the new year, drivers or operators of a vehicle will be obliged to purchase a motorway vignette when using the charged sections of Slovak motorways regardless of the country of registration of the given vehicle. This obligation also applies to vehicles registered in Ukraine. The new legislation repeals the exemption introduced in the Slovak Republic as of February 2022.

National Motorway Company warns drivers against fake websites selling electronic motorway vignettes. The customer pays, but receives no motorway vignette, while handing over his personal data to unknown fraudsters. NDS reminds the drivers that the only official website selling Slovak motorway vignettes is www.eznamka.sk.

Last year, Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, a.s. (National Motorway Company, hereinafter referred to as “NDS”) recorded an annual increase of 11.5% in the sale of electronic motorway vignettes. In total, motorists purchased almost 5.5 million motorway vignettes in 2024, with the 10-day vignette remaining the most preferred type accounting for nearly half of all vignettes sold (more than 2.5 million).

The 10-day vignette was the most frequently purchased motorway vignette so far in 2026, with 506 thousand units sold. This represented one third of total sales for the given period. The second most popular was the 365-day vignette with 455,000 units sold; followed by the 1-day vignette with 324,000 units sold; and the 30-day vignette with 113,000 units sold. Overall, 1.4 million vignettes have been sold so far in 2026.

Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, a.s. (the National Motorway Company, hereinafter referred to as „NDS“) has officially launched the pre-sale of the 1-day motorway vignette. The new vignette is already available in pre-sale, however, it will not be valid before 1 August 2024. At the same time, NDS will stop selling the 1-year vignette on 1 August 2024. However, the 365-day, 30-day and 10-day vignettes will remain valid.
