Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, a.s. (National Motorway Company, hereafter referred to as “NDS”), in cooperation with the Regional Traffic Inspectorate of the Bratislava Police Directorate, has launched summer checks focusing on compliance with charging regulations on motorway sections. Over the past weekend, NDS and police officers have checked nearly 5,300 drivers. Around 60 drivers were fined for driving without a vignette.

Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, a.s. (National Motorway Company, hereinafter referred to as “NDS”) would like to remind drivers who use the Slovak motorways and expressways only occasionally not to forget to buy a motorway vignette. If they do not have a valid electronic motorway vignette, getting a 10-day vignette for the duration of the Easter holidays at a price of 10.80 EUR might be a reasonable solution (its price has been reduced from 12 EUR in 2024).

Due to the emergency situation in the vicinity of Sliač, the R1 motorway section between Zvolen and Banská Bystrica was temporarily exempted from tolls on Wednesday, November 26. From the first minutes of today, the R1 section is again subject to tolls.
