Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, a.s. (the National Motorway Company, hereafter referred to as „NDS“) regularly warns drivers about various resellers offering motorway vignettes for a significantly higher price, charging various handling fees. Although such reselling is legal and common across Europe, drivers pay a higher price without receiving any additional service. Moreover, they hand over personal data to an anonymous operator, and the complaints process may become more complicated, too.

The electronic motorway vignettes are now available for purchase at selected Slovak Post branches. Furthermore, as of March 1, 2026, it is possible to apply for exemption from vignette payment at eight main regional post offices.

In 2025, Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, a.s. (the National Motorway Company, hereafter referred to as “NDS”) sold almost six million motorway vignettes, representing an annual increase of 8.6 %. As usual, the most popular type was the 10-day vignette with 2.5 million vignettes sold last year, representing almost half of all vignettes sold.

National Motorway Company warns drivers against fake websites selling electronic motorway vignettes. The customer pays, but receives no motorway vignette, while handing over his personal data to unknown fraudsters. NDS reminds the drivers that the only official website selling Slovak motorway vignettes is www.eznamka.sk.

Národná diaľničná spoločnosť upozorňuje motoristov na krátku nočnú odstávku systému predaja elektronických diaľničných známok na prelome rokov 2025 a 2026. Plánovaná technická odstávka systému odštartuje 10 minút pred koncom roka 2025 a bude pokračovať počas prvej polhodiny nového roka 2026.

Due to the emergency situation in the vicinity of Sliač, the R1 motorway section between Zvolen and Banská Bystrica was temporarily exempted from tolls on Wednesday, November 26. From the first minutes of today, the R1 section is again subject to tolls.
